Core Scientific self-mined bitcoin output grows 17% in May

Core Scientific ( OTCPK:CORZQ ) said Monday it produced 1.3K self-mined bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) in May, up 16.7% from the prior month, and 586 BTC for colocation customers, up 32.6% M/M. The company operated ~209K owned and colocated bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) miners, representing a total potential hash rate of 22.1 EH/s. Core Scientific ( OTCPK:CORZQ ) operated ~143K miners as of May-end for self-mining, accounting for ~69% of its total number of rigs and representing a total potential self-mining hash rate of 14.9 EH/s. The company provided data center colocation services for ~66K customer-owned bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) miners, representing ~31% of the miners operating in its data centers as of May 31. Curtailments during the month totaled 3,696 MWh. Earlier, Core Scientific said it would host 17.9K bitcoin mining rigs.
